A Prehistoric Menagerie
Our paddock is the bustling home to an impressive herd of dinosaurs – each with their own name and distinct personality! Among the notable members are T Rex, Raptors, Spinosaurus, Brontosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Pterodactyl, Triceratops, Dilong Paradoxus, and many adorable hatchlings.
The Jurassic Earth team comprises incredible Managers, Technicians, Operators, Actors, Puppeteers, all unparalleled in what they do. Their dedication keeps our dinosaurs all maintained in tricera-tip-top working condition, looking wonderful, and they know how to get the best out of each beast!
The Evolution of Jurassic Earth
The story started with Rex, the T-Rex, the heaviest dinosaur in our repertoire – now retired! Director Erica Crompton envisioned the idea of having walking dinosaurs as an attraction for events after being inspired by ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’. ‘Why dinosaurs? Everybody loves them, including us. The joy they bring to children of all ages is fantastic to witness.’ Today, our Dinosaurs appear at numerous events all over the country. They even star in their own theatre show, Jurassic Earth.

We were thrilled to support our client with their Halloween entertainment! On the 29th of October 2023, Big Foot Events conjured a spooktacular experience for Aintree Racecourse’s Halloween Family Fun Day.
The Brief
Our client wanted to create a spellbinding Halloween-themed family day out, aiming to be the top choice for families seeking the ultimate spooky soiree. They sought to provide a plethora of spine-tingling activities designed to entertain both the little ghouls and the grown-up ghosts.
The Challenges
Having collaborated with our client previously for their 2022 Halloween family fun day, we were able to assess the successes and areas for improvement from that experience. Using this valuable feedback, we were able to identify some of the challenges we would face creating 2023’s event.
In 2022, the event was significantly oversubscribed. In response to the overwhelming demand, we needed to create an event that embraced a large amount of visitors and had plenty of exciting activities for guests to enjoy.
As well as focusing on drawing new visitors to the racecourse, we needed to provide new and exciting activities for returning families.
The Solutions
Building on the successes of 2022, we elevated the event to spookier heights! As a result of identifying the challenges we had previously encountered, we proactively implemented improvements derived from our experience and invaluable feedback received.
To accommodate the quantity of visitors, we provided a PA and Host to assist with queue management and to captivate and entertain guests between activities.
We also provided additional entertainers and activities – from an energetic dance flash-mob to a range of Craft Workshops. There was an array of spooky activities to appeal to new and returning visitors.
The Results
We made our client’s event the go-to haunt for families seeking the perfect Halloween adventure, brimming with entertainment and excitement! This year’s festivities surpassed the success of 2022.
Guests were encouraged to be best dressed and come in fantastic Halloween costumes to enter a costume competition. This brought out the most fantastic and imaginative ensembles! Six talented Face Painters worked their magic and transformed little ones into their favourite spooky creatures and characters!
For those seeking thrills, families hopped aboard our spooky Ghost Train and Teacup Ride! The Halloween Prop Trail beckoned visitors with spooktacular photo opportunities, guiding them through the highlights of the family fun day.
Adding a dash of surprise and dance flair, Wednesday, Morticia, Gomez, Pudsey, Xavier, and Enid dazzled guests with an unexpected dance flash mob! The energy didn’t stop there; Wednesday herself offered dance lessons to eager participants before they entered a lively dance competition.
Craft enthusiasts found their haven with our Workshops. We provided a vibrant colouring station and the chance to ‘Craft your own Spider’. These hands-on activities provided a delightful opportunity for families to unleash their creativity.
International Day of Women and Girls in Science falls on Tuesday, 11th February this year! This day is an annual observation by the United Nations to promote full and equal access and participation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

The Girls Aloud Show
After more than a decade, Girls Aloud are reuniting for a spectacular 2024 UK tour, featuring the iconic lineup of Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine, and Nicola. This special reunion is dedicated to the memory of their beloved bandmate, Sarah Harding. The group will visit Dublin, Belfast, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham, London, and Liverpool. Girls Aloud revealed the tour as a celebration of Sarah, their music, and their fans.
Foo Fighters
Foo Fighters visit the UK in 2024, hitting Manchester, Glasgow, London, Cardiff, and Birmingham. If you can’t wait for the real thing, fear not, because Foo Fighters GB, the UK’s ultimate Foo Fighters Tribute band, is here to deliver an experience that’s nothing short of legendary. Foo Fighters GB is renowned for their fantastic showmanship and incredible stage presence. They bring the raw energy and spirit of the Foo Fighters to life night after night. Brace yourself for an immersive and electrifying performance that will undoubtedly blow you away.
All the bells and whistles and treats for the eyes and ears were on offer at this gargantuan scaled mix and mingle, street entertainment and meet and greet event, which preceded the showcase itself. On offer from the ever ravishingly gorgeous agent Erica Crompton was an evening of fun and surprises. This is what Big Foot Events do, with dinosaurs and dragons galore and the emphasis very much on presentational skills and wow factors.
Compere for the evening was the legendary DJ Lionel Vinyl, AKA Norry Ashcroft. In whichever guise he chooses to appear, this performer knows the corporate market inside out and his knowledge and skill shines through.
Kitsch and rather camp shows, such as The Movie Magic Show are cropping up here and there, proving the market for this material exists. Here we have one male two females, some amazing costumes and choreography and a real winner for sure in so many areas of the marketplace.
The Bavarian Oompah Boyz are in fact two Brummie boys and a girl, wearing a skirt so short it resembled a frilly pelmet. Maximum entertainment value here from a fun and tongue in cheek oompah act, who look like winners to me.
Glimmer is the name of a superbly presented three-girl act, loaded with harmony skills and stage presence. A thoughtfully presented postmodern jukebox style combined with great cabaret and movement skills.
Helix and The Hounds is the name of a punchy and ballsey four-piece rock band. These guys have all the required edge for a true live band. One for the musical purists certainly, but also thoroughly entertaining.
Boomin is the name of a real favourite band of mine. That said, this live three-piece band always come up with a new slant on certain covers. It seems their star shines as brightly as ever.
Cliff Antony has the look of a band singer, and his voice is terrifically pitched and easy to listen to and enjoy.
Luke Combs UK came next and what we saw and heard was a top-class country rock style band. Country music has always been a real blind spot with me, so after consulting the ever helpful and approachable Ms Crompton, I was soon clued up and appreciating the lookalike quality as well as the musical skills.
On The Tracks is the name of two boys, one on guitar and the other on Cello. Ed Sheeran’s haunting song the A-Team just cries out for live cello. This is a great idea and so well-delivered as an acoustic attraction.
I first saw Last Orders – The Pub Party last time around at Bigfoot’s ’22 showcase. This is a great idea as the six guys give us the ultimate choreographed, interactive pub sing-a-long. The effect on the audience was fantastic and business is sure to flow and flow. This is the best new idea I have seen showcased for some considerable time.
I then found myself having to provide an accurate review for a band called The Review. Their version of the Don Henley song Boys of Summer caught my ear, but I imagine these guys would come up trumps playing and performing just about any type of set.
Sheeran vs Ezra is a great idea for a double-edged tribute show. The show is delivered well and performed with the aid of a loop guitar and all the accustomed technology.
Out came the glowsticks with the arrival of a three-handed band called Noughty Nineties. An extraordinary and diminutive female singer led the room in all the big fish- little fish- cardboard box style hand-dancing gestures.
Absolute Britney is a dead ringer for Ms Spears and her two dancers certainly look the part. More to do with image and the fantastic dance routines than a big lead-vocal for sure, but this is class tribute music entertainment without a doubt.
Picture This is a Blondie tribute band, and all involved in the musical side of the act were bang en-pointe. The lady out front was blonde and sings very well indeed.
Kurtis Ray’s Funk and Soul Party is in fact a one man all singing all dancing party soul man, who looks great and sounds even better. I can say no more about this performer, except to state that he could probably start a dancing party in a mortuary.
Kool Britannia is a live band all dressed entirely in black, which made the individual members hard to pick out in their rather gloomy corner room pitch. Britpop anthems are what is on offer here and there will be work waiting after this successful showcase pitch for sure.
Closing the whole thing out on a triumphant night for the nice people at Bigfoot Events was something rather special. MJ – The Legacy. I have to begin by stating that I have never been as convinced about the true authenticity of a live vocal being presented by a Michael Jackson tribute, as I was with this young man. His name is Craig Harrison and along with his dancers he proved to be one of the evenings many highlights.

October 2022 saw Lauren Canavan become Mrs Barrowcliff!
This beloved member of the Big Foot Events family created her own special day! Armed with her wealth of industry experience and with a diverse selection of entertainment options from the big Foot Events roster, Lauren planned a truly unforgettable celebration.
From the very onset of the day, this wedding was enchanted with the magic of live entertainment! As guests took their seats for the wedding ceremony, and as the bridal party proceeded way down the aisle, the soulful vocalist Katy Ellis performed a delicate and heartfelt live soundtrack to the occasion.
Following the heartfelt exchange of vows – accompanied by some emotional tears – family and friends were greeted with a glass of fizz, served by a beautiful Champagne Dress Hostess adorned in sparkles, pearls, and feathers. With confetti in hand, guests stepped into the venue’s picturesque grounds, entertained by the melodies of a talented Harpist.
Aside from incorporating ‘something new’ and ‘something blue’ into her day, Lauren had brilliantly mastered ‘something old’. Ready to crash the wedding and make a memorable appearance were our adorable Baby Dinosaurs and mischievous Raptor. These prehistoric animatronic creatures captivated both children and adults, and even managed to sneak in some of the photographs with their cheeky antics.
The wedding reception delighted guests with a night filled with sensational live music. Katy Ellis welcomed the newlyweds to the dancefloor with a stunning rendition of DJ Sammy’s ‘Heaven (Candlelight Mix)’ for their first dance. Lauren made a dazzling entrance in a sparkling surprise second dress, the first dance tempo hastened, and the party started!
Katy Ellis continued to amaze with her tribute to Taylor Swift, leaving everyone thoroughly entertained and singing along! The incomparable Popwork graced the stage, guaranteeing a packed dancefloor and an electric atmosphere. Our incredible Mirror Men ensured that everyone had a dancing partner! The entertainment drew to a close with a Soul and Motown set performed by the talented Kurtis Ray White.
This day had promised to be extraordinary, one-of-a-kind, and truly magical – and it exceeded all expectations!
