    In May 2024, we had the pleasure of working with a new venue to enhance their family spring entertainment offerings with a secret garden installation!

    The Brief

    Our client aimed to provide engaging and eye-catching entertainment for visitors to their shopping centre during the late spring period. Their vision was to create a realistic, lifelike garden indoors with activities to help inspire children to get outside and enjoy nature.

    The Challenges

    The primary challenge we encountered was adhering to our client’s strict fire safety regulations. This restricted our use of standard materials in our design and proposal.

    The Solutions

    We worked closely with our client’s on-site operations team to develop a comprehensive risk assessment. This gave us a thorough understanding of the safety requirements.

    To comply with the venue’s regulations, we had to think outside the box to select materials that were both visually effective and safe. For example, instead of using traditional brown wooden fencing, we provided a white plastic picket fence. Instead of artificial grass, we used green camo netting to provide a grass effect. Additionally, all our Props were treated to meet fire compliance standards.

    The Result

    We created a vibrant Garden Installation in full bloom! The Installation featured an array of botanical props, foliage, and themed seating. It included: a foliage arch entranceway, Giant daffodil, daisy, rose, sunflower, and tulip Props, a picnic bench and toadstool seating, and blossom canopies.

    To truly bring our client’s entertainment to life, we introduced engaging interactive Workshops in which children could pot their own seeds in a pot to take away or enjoy some themed arts and crafts!

  2. Remembering 90s Dance Music Dario G Star, Paul Spencer

    Big Foot Events were honoured and proud to work alongside legendary 90s dance music icon Paul Spencer, also known as Dario G, for many years. We are all deeply saddened by his death yesterday.

    Paul leaves behind an incredible legacy through his music. Dario G was a dance music trio formed by DJs and producers Paul Spencer, Scott Rosser, and Stephen Spencer. They achieved global success in 1997 with ‘Sunchyme’, an enduring dance anthem that remains a favourite today, selling over 60,000 copies in the UK and reaching No.2 in the charts. The band, named after the then-manager of Crewe Alexandra FC, Dario Grandi, followed up with another top 5 track, ‘Carnaval de Paris’. The song became the unofficial anthem of the 1998 World Cup in Paris and was later re-released for the 2002 tournament.

    As those who knew Paul well will attest, he is also leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and positivity for everyone he met. Paul would bounce into our office with his huge smile and boundless energy, bringing gifts for all the team – from t-shirts to sweets and cakes.

    Paul’s family shared on his official Instagram that “he was positive until the end but this was one battle he could not fight anymore. He leaves behind a wonderful musical legacy and many happy memories for many people. He will be sadly missed by everyone who loved him. Shine bright our big star”.

    It was a joy to spend time in his presence. Those of our clients who attended our 2022 Showcase – where Paul honoured us with a fantastic performance – will recall how vibrant and energetic he was.

    Paul was always buzzing with new ideas and enthusiasm. We worked closely with Paul on his Better Than The 90s project, an incredible idea he had when returning home from another sell-out 90s-themed event. He found these 90s-themed events were better than the actual 90s – as nowadays we are older, more settled, and more secure than we were then. This unique, fun, and nostalgic show was hosted by Paul, who brought immense energy and genuine passion to the production.

    Even in recent months, his maintained positivity was truly infectious as he played us his music and spoke about having a party when this was all over. Well, Paul, we hope there is a party for you in heaven right now – and you are playing that trumpet!

    We were delighted to provide several live music acts for our client and create extraordinary experiences for their customers!

    The Brief

    On this occasion, we had sourced and reached out to our client through direct marketing. In our research, we identified our client’s venue as an ideal match for our live entertainment offerings. We discussed their entertainment goals and live music needs to tailor our proposal.

    As a newly opened venue, it was crucial for our client to provide exciting entertainment that would not only draw in customers but also set a high standard for future events.

    The Challenges

    One of our primary challenges was supplying entertainment for our client’s unestablished customer base. It was essential to propose live music acts that appealed to a diverse audience to build a consistent customer base and raise the profile of our client’s venue.

    Additionally, the unusual layout of the venue required acts that could adapt and perform effectively within the space.

    The Solutions

    We proposed a variety of Tribute Acts to gauge audience response and attract customers. These acts included We Will Rock You, Santa Baby, Sistacated, Big Boyband Reunion, and GIRLCODE. Following the success of these live music acts and increased knowledge of the venue layout, we proposed Last Orders – The Pub Party, a versatile interactive act suitable for numerous occasions and venues. We were able to adapt the Last Orders concept to the venue and their audience, engaging customers through dynamic performance.

    The Results

    By understanding and addressing our client’s unique needs and challenges, we successfully elevated their venue’s entertainment profile and delivered memorable live music experiences for their audience.

    The feedback for our act was overwhelmingly positive, leading our client to rebook. Furthermore, our client has continued to utilise our services for future live music acts, establishing a strong and ongoing partnership.

    There was an incredible audience response to Last Orders. The Last Orders concept is flexible and can be moulded to fit almost any scenario or venue.

    The Pub Party with Last Orders is the result of some mates and a night in the pub – literally! This hour-long show is an uplifting, interactive experience, with lots of audience participation both on and off stage. You will get to know the Pub Landlord and Locals as they deliver rousing versions of ‘Hey Brother’ by Avicii, Queen’s ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ and hits from Mika, Billy Joel, One Direction, Bon Jovi, Backstreet Boys, Gary Barlow, The Beatles, Doobie Brothers, 90s anthems, and even the Spice Girls. Audiences are guaranteed to raise their glasses and sing along!

    Our client envisioned a dazzling birthday celebration filled with visually spectacular and Interactive Entertainment, stunning Venue Theming, and unique catering options for their guests. They approached us with a very detailed vision, and our goal was to bring it to life!

    The Challenges

    We encountered several obstacles while planning the birthday party, but we eagerly embraced the challenge of finding the perfect solutions!

    Budget constraints meant that we needed to create an impressive event within a limited budget. We needed to make sure we used this budget as effectively as possible. Additionally, the party was held in a different part of the country to where our client was located. We needed to liaise clearly between the client, the venue, and our team for the event to be designed and to run as smoothly as possible.

    It was crucial for this event to align closely with our client’s vision. We wanted to deliver a fantastic birthday party that met – and exceeded – their expectations.

    The Solutions

    We planned every aspect of the event to maximise the budget without compromising on quality! We secured fantastic entertainment and venue theming to create a party with plenty of wow-factor.

    To ensure we brought our client’s vision to life perfectly, we created mood boards and collaborated closely with them throughout the planning process. This ensured our ideas aligned with their hopes for the event.

    We conducted site visits to the venue on our client’s behalf and to gain a thorough understanding of the event space. This enabled us to plan a stunning venue transformation and use the space most effectively to create a big impression!

    We faced two main challenges: our client’s tight timeline and their constrained budget. We needed to promptly create exciting ideas, coordinate with our client, and organise entertainment within a limited timeframe. Our objective was to meet, and exceed, our client’s expectations from the outset, all while staying within budget.

  8. A Roaring Success for Loughborough SU’s Dinosaur Night Out!

    Have you ever seen a Dinosaur in a club? On the 3rd of May 2024, Big Foot Events had the delight of collaborating with Loughborough Students’ Union to bring our Raptor to their FNDino student night out.

    The Brief

    Our client was hosting a Dinosaur Disco and sought to complete their guest list with a prehistoric VIP. They reached out to Big Foot Events to find the perfect party animal for their student night out, aiming to make a big impact and create a truly memorable night.

    The Challenges

    Our primary goal was to make the event a hit while ensuring the safety and security of our team. We needed to assess the event space to accommodate our Dinosaur, ensuring that there was a private space for breaks and appropriate roaming space. It was important to work with our client to structure the event to allow for appropriate breaks for our team and consider the late get-out time.

    We focused on providing the best experience for our client and the students. This required our Dinosaur handler to interact in a light-hearted and humorous manner to complement our Raptor’s cheeky personality! We needed to keep guests entertained throughout the night with engaging prehistoric interactions and photo opportunities.

    The Solutions

    To overcome these challenges, we collaborated closely with our client to manage expectations and conduct thorough risk assessments, ensuring confidence for both our teams and the client. We worked together to assess the space and identify any potential risks.

    In collaboration with our client, we scheduled feeding time breaks for our Raptor and Ranger handler whilst maintaining a fantastic experience for partygoers.

    The Results

    FNDino was a prehistorically incredible night out. Our Raptor and handler received a warm welcome and enjoyed the event just as much as the students!

    Highlights of the event included a dedicated photoshoot area meet and greet experience where students could pose with our Raptor. This created unforgettable memories. We also provided exciting prehistoric interactions, entertaining guests throughout the night.

    Among our globes is the Mystic Mirror Globe, a magical universe of spinning mirrors enclosed within a globe in which the wise Mystic resides. Lighting effects set the scene and dance off the mirrors; your guests can engage with the magic by pressing the button, starting the overhead mirror ball and mirrors to spin, catching the light, and beaming it into the audience. Combined with ethereal music, smoke effects, and a theatrical performance by the Mystic, this spellbinding act with captivate all those who witness its magic.

    Additionally, our Enchanted Flower Globe provides a magical spectacle for spring and summer. Within a mobile microclimate, Floris the mystical flower nymph beckons guests into her magical world of butterflies, magic, and wonder. Giant posies bloom around her, flourishing in the heat.

    Encounter magical walkabout characters, from wizards to fairies, towering trees to ogres! Among these fantastical beings, the Treants stand tall as tree-mendous Stilt Walking giants. This unique act never fails to create wonder and gasps of awe wherever they go!
