   Full Venue Transformations: Around the World in 80 Days (in 80 warehouses!)

   Not only do we bring stories to life with performers and props, but we also create breathtaking full-venue transformations! Here’s how we turned a warehouse canteen into a sky-high adventure, inspired by a literary classic…

   As part of the UK Warehousing Association’s (UKWA) 80^th anniversary, we were challenged to transform a warehouse canteen into an immersive, Instagram-worthy space for the final visit of the UKWA CEO’s tour of 80 warehouses. Inspired by Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days, we created an experience that transported guests to the skies!

   With just a few days to plan and execute, we needed to transform a functional canteen into a stunning, immersive environment fit for the event.

   We conducted a site visit to assess the space, take measurements, and explore whether practical installations or projection visuals would create the most impactful sky-high effect.

   We designed a hot air balloon experience! Guests could step inside the basket, hold onto the ropes, and capture the perfect photos! Wall draping combined with lighting projections creating the illusion of the sky, and coloured ceiling draping and lighting projections simulated the hot air balloon and flame. To finish, we added rustic-look seating, allowing guests to sit and take in the immersive atmosphere.

   The transformation was breathtaking! Guests could step into a real balloon basket, surrounded by stunning 360-degree visuals of the sky, creating a truly Instagrammable moment. The immersive experience captured the adventurous spirit of Around the World in 80 Days.

   Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, is the most important traditional festival in Chinese culture. This Chinese New Year 2025 falls on Wednesday, February 29^th. Chinese New Year marks the transition between zodiac signs: 2025 will be the Year of the Snake!

   Celebrate this Chinese New Year with our traditional venue decor, live music, and captivating entertainment.

   Venue Décor

   Elevate your celebrations with our beautiful traditional décor. Immerse your guests with elements of the Chinese Zodiac. In the spirit of 2025 — the Year of the Snake, anticipate snake-themed decor! 4. Creating a Thai Full Moon Party for Gold Medal Travel’s ‘Big Day Out’

   For several years, we have had the pleasure of working with Gold Medal Travel on their annual ‘Big Day Out’ corporate event. This year, we were thrilled to return and deliver an unforgettable experience, this time, with a Thai Full Moon Party theme inspired by our client’s work with Tourism Thailand.

   The Brief

   Gold Medal Travel’s ‘Big Day Out’ events are the perfect blend of professional and party. For 2024, they requested a Thai Full Moon Party theme, décor options that incorporated photo opportunities, and live entrainment with club-style live music to complement the festival vibe. We were excited to bring their vision to life!

   The Challenges

   Gold Medal Travel were required to receive proposals from at least three suppliers, so we were competing with other companies. As one of three suppliers pitching for the event, we needed to ensure our ideas stood out.

   We needed to consider budget variability. Our client had a budget in mind, but they were open to exploring more options with a large budget.

   We had a tight setup window. The event space was in full use the day prior to our client’s event, so we needed to ensure everything was set up perfectly ahead of the evening event.

   The Solutions

   To provide Gold Medal Travel with multiple options, we created three tailored proposals.

   Our first proposal was budget-friendly: a Thai beach and jungle theme with creative props for fantastic photo opportunities. The second proposal catered to a mid-range budget to include full venue draping, UV lighting, and décor for a complete room transformation. Our third proposal envisioned a glamorous beach festival theme.

   Each proposal was accompanied by a detailed mood board to showcase our vision. This helped our client picture the event before it even began. After thorough and consistent communication with our client, we landed on the perfect balance of budget, style, and a full-impact experience for their guests.

   The Results

   Our client settled on a budget in the middle range of our initial proposals. Their key requests were:

   • Fantastic photo opportunities for guests
   • Represent geographically accurate animal props, iconography, and foliage
   • Limited furniture

   The final package was a huge hit with Gold Medal Travel, and the event was a night to remember!

   From neon signs to UV-reactive props and vibrant décor, the event space was filled with Instagram-worthy moments.

   We combined traditional Thai-inspired décor elements with modern festival touches. This included white draping, multicoloured lights, and a neon pink elephant – a playful nod to Thailand’s wildlife.

   Minimal furniture encouraged guests to mingle, dance, and enjoy the entire event space – not just the bar!

   We provided live music that matched Gold Medal Travel’s vision. Ultra 90s were the perfect choice, providing a high-energy, festival vibe with live vocals, musicians, and dazzling light shows.

   Mark Walsh was an interactive and engaging DJ and Host bringing infectious energy to the room, keeping guests dancing and entertained all night long.

   From the glowing décor to the lively entertainment, the event perfectly captured the essence of a Thai Full Moon Party while celebrating Gold Medal Travel’s incredible work.

5. Entertainment Through The Years: A Planner’s Perspective

   Today, we shine the spotlight on one of our senior team members, Vicky, about her experience of working at Big Foot Events and the changes that have shaped the Entertainment Industry throughout her time here:

   ‘I started at Big Foot Events in 2007. I was fresh out of school and starting an apprenticeship in Business Administration. My background in entertainment wasn’t as defined or prestigious as others might be, but my family has always been musical, mostly in the Folk & Irish music community, so it was big part of my upbringing and live music always surrounded me.

   I learnt my trade from the ground up, starting with general office administration and building relationships with artists and clients, eventually moving to the bookings side of the agency and then training new staff members.

   When I first began working at Big Foot, it was very different to how it is today! Contracts, invoices, act diaries and publicity would all be sent through the post or via fax! We would receive and send music “demos” of acts via CD for clients to listen to, and act videos were only just starting to become a thing, and always as a physical DVD! Social media wasn’t really utilised for events and marketing, and we had just started our very first one – a Myspace page!

   It feels like worlds away to today’s digital world, where everything can be done by the click of a button and digital paperwork saves time and trees.

   Back then, we worked primarily in live music and celebrity appearances. We provided bands, tribute acts, vocalists and musicians to some of the biggest leisure chains in the UK – as we still do today. Some, sadly, no longer exist, but others are still thriving, fantastic chains that continue to provide holiday and entertainment experiences to millions, such as Butlins, Warner Leisure, Haven and Away Resorts. The Nightclub industry was also very different, we would see high-demand from club venues for weekly celebrity appearances, as reality TV contestants from shows like Big Brother and X Factor were huge draws and would tour such venues as they left each elimination.

   Appetites have changed so much over the years. Trends are constantly evolving, and we’ve made sure to stay ahead of the curve at every step. We are now hugely involved in a much wider range of events and entertainment, in particular, family entertainment. Our expertise has grown exponentially over the years and it’s exciting to be part of such varied experiences, catering for festivals, family fun days, corporate & trade events, theatres, public interactive experiences and so much more.

   As well as the ever-strong demand for live music, people are looking for new experiences, hands on opportunities and occasions to take that perfect Instagramable photo.

   I’ve seen the industry face challenges that we’ve always overcome, from economic strain to the unprecedented pandemic. Each has solidified the need for entertainment, something that brings happiness, time spent with family and friends, a much-needed break from worry, and a time to just have fun and make great memories. I’m a firm believer that we need music, we need theatre, we need entertainment.

   My highlights have been vast and varied! I have taken an empty field and turned it in to a Greatest Showman Circus for a company weekend away, changed a warehouse canteen into a Hot Air Balloon, transformed a university foyer into a 1920s ballroom and programmed Festival line-ups that have entertained tens of thousands of happy audience members. Working with incredible clients and performers has allowed me to build lasting, trusting relationships that result in continued collaborations and achievements. Knowing that what we’ve done has made people happy is always the best result.

   The biggest change I don’t think I could ever have predicted in the beginning, is our work with the prehistoric! I remember getting our first ever T Rex Dinosaur and booking it into schools and museums. We now have a whole herd of Jurassic beasts, props, interactive workshops and a theatre production, Jurassic Earth!

   It’s incredible to look back on when I began here, to where we are now. We’ve built a wonderful team who are all equally as passionate about providing the very best for our clients. I’m excited to see what’s to come in the next 20 years!’

6. Celebrating 20 Years of Creating Extraordinary

   Big Foot Events is turning 20 years old in 2025! What a milestone – and the perfect opportunity to look back on our journey from a fledgling Entertainment Agency to Event Industry Specialists!

   Over the past two decades, we have been at the heart of creating extraordinary moments. Over the next 12 months, we will be taking you on a trip down memory lane with some of our most unforgettable ‘best bits’!

   Our journey began in 2005, when Erica Crompton set up Big Foot Events, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge, and a determination to become recognised as the UK’s leading provider of extraordinary entertainment and events.

   Working alongside Star Names, Celebrities, top Party Bands, Tribute Acts, and unique walkabout entertainment was just the beginning. Erica and the team quickly realised that no other company had the expertise and wide selection of entertainment options that they had access to – and the rest, as they say, is history.

   As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary, it’s amazing to look back at everything we’ve achieved. From winter wonderlands to roaring dinosaurs, show-stopping live performances to unforgettable events… it’s been 20 years of creativity, passion, and making the extraordinary happen! There is very little we haven’t been asked for – and created!

7. Terror on the Tracks: Halloween Experiences at The Keighley and Worth Railway

   In October 2024, we were thrilled to work with our client to deliver a hauntingly unforgettable Halloween experience for their visitors. It was a journey to die for, featuring two immersive train rides: one for families looking for light-hearted frights, and another for brave visitors ready to face a terrifying over-18s scare train.

   The Brief

   Our client, The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, had a frightfully fun challenge for us: to create two immersive Halloween experiences aboard their trains.

   Our client required a family-friendly experience designed to delight little monsters and parents with Halloween magic just scary enough to keep it fun! Our over-18s scare train was a spine-tingling ride designed to send chills down even the bravest of spines! Our client’s aim was to deliver two distinct experiences that brought Halloween to life while delivering an appropriate level of scare-factor for their respective audiences.

   The Challenges

   Creating these two experiences required carefully balancing the scare factor! For families, we had to make sure the experience appealed to families while also incorporating frights that wouldn’t be too scary for young passengers – think trick-or-treat! For adults, we aimed to pull the brakes on family-friendly frights and deliver nightmare-worthy scares! We had to ensure the experience was truly terrifying and tailored to the fears of our client’s target demographic.

   The Solutions

   We took to social media to engage with our client’s visitors, asking about their biggest fears and phobias surrounding Halloween. We received lots of audience engagement to inform our creative process, with top fears including spiders, clowns, dolls, zombies, and masked characters! We tailored each experience to haunt the imagination of every passenger.

   The Results

   

   

   

   All aboard The Spooky Express! We delivered two first-class train journeys that brought Halloween to life.

   Six witches cast their spells performing aboard, creating an interactive and immersive show that kept passengers engaged from start to finish. Two additional characters delivered a captivating pre-show performance, setting the spooky mood as visitors prepared to board! We curated an experience that included spooky yet playful elements, with light-hearted frights, and lots of fun! This ensured children were thrilled but still able to sleep soundly (though they may have checked under the bed for monsters, just in case!).

   The over-18s scare train was a one-way ticket to terror! With immersive live performances playing on the visitor’s top fears. The experience was designed to keep passengers on edge from the moment they stepped aboard until alighting.  

   

   

   

   These Halloween experience trains were a scream. It was a first-class fright fest that left passengers asking for another ticket to ride!

9. Our Spice Girls Tribute takes on Swieqi Fest, Malta

   On Saturday, 14th September 2024, Big Foot Events proudly took Spice Girls Experience, our incredible Spice Girls Tribute act, on another international adventure. This time, to Swieqi Fest in Malta. Swieqi Fest is a lively celebration of music, art, and culture, and we were thrilled to bring classic 90s girl power to their stage!

   The Brief

   Our client was seeking something extra special for their live music line up – a high-energy live Tribute Act that could truly wow a large festival crowd. They needed a professional, experienced group who could represent a global pop sensation, ensuring a fun, dynamic, and unforgettable live music experience.

   The Challenges

   One of the main challenges we faced was securing the perfect act with the right availability for Swieqi Fest. Our roster of talented live music acts are often in high demand; our act needed to fit the festival dates seamlessly into their busy schedule. We needed to identify the best fit for our client’s vision while managing logistics for an international performance.

   Another key factor was selecting an act that would engage and dazzle a large audience!

   The Solutions

   The Big Foot Events team worked closely with our client, taking care of every single detail from checking availability to coordinating travel logistics for the international performance.

   Knowing that our client needed an outstanding performance, who better to take on the challenge than our fabulous Spice Girls tribute act?

   With our thorough knowledge of popular, classic tribute acts, we knew right away that Spice Girls Experience would be the perfect fit. They had recently wowed audiences at Adele’s residency in Munich just a month earlier. We were confident they would bring all the energy, fun, and nostalgia Swieqi Fest needed.

   The Results

   Swieqi Fest 2024, held from September 13th to 15th, was a buzzing mix of music, art, and culture. Spice Girls Experience stole the show, adding iconic 90s girl power and drawing in large crowds. Festivalgoers enjoyed singing along to all the hits from ‘Wannabe’ to ‘Spice Up Your Life’.

   

   Despite the tight schedule, we managed to secure a 24-hour window for the act to travel to Malta, perform, and return to the UK by Sunday morning! Talk about dedication. Spice Girls Experience flew out early on the 14th, gave an unforgettable performance that evening, and were back in the UK the next day – leaving Swieqi Fest with memories of an epic night full of girl power!

   

   After their show-stopping performance at Adele World, we knew that Spice Girls Experience would once again deliver, and they did. Malta was well and truly spiced up!

   ‘Mia, what can I say? You have really pulled this out of the bag for us. The Spice Girls Experience were incredible; one of the best we have ever had at the festival. 10. Spicing up Adele World with a Spice Girls Tribute

    In August 2024, we were thrilled to work with our client to provide live music at Adele World, a hospitality experience at Adele’s Munich concert residency. Our Spice Girls tribute act – Spice Girls Experience – brought energy, nostalgia, and undeniable girl power to the stage, spicing up the atmosphere!

    The Brief

    Our client approached us with an exciting request: they needed a Spice Girls tribute to perform at Adele World during Adele’s highly anticipated Munich concert residency. They were looking for outstanding live vocal performances, energetic stage presence, and – most importantly – to bring the iconic legacy of the Spice Girls to Adele World.

    The Challenges

    For this enquiry, there were many requirements to fulfill – and exceed -and we were excited to tackle them head-on! We needed to provide top-tier talent for our client. In the midst of a busy summer season, we needed to secure one of the best Spice Girls tribute acts to keep audiences entertained.

    We needed to ensure consistent availability of our tribute. They were to perform throughout the entire duration of the residency, covering multiple dates between August 2nd and August 31st. They were to perform two high-energy sets each day, followed by a meet-and-greet with fans.

    Additionally, we faced the logistical challenges of scheduling, travel, and coordination. Attention to detail was critical for the seamless execution of the event.

    The Solutions

    After careful consideration of several options, we identified Spice Girls Experience as the perfect fit for Adele World. Their energy, vocal prowess, and uncanny resemblance to the original Spice Girls made them a fantastic choice. Adele herself expressed her excitement: ‘I have to have them!’

    We approached our client’s brief with meticulous planning. We organised every detail to ensure both our client and our act had a seamless experience. The Big Foot Events team worked closely with our client to guarantee availability and coordinate the logistics for our tribute throughout the residency. With our act’s commitment to flexibility, we overcame the demands of availability and performance frequency during this busy summer period. We designed a detailed scheduled that allowed Spice Girls Experience to perform prior to each show, seamlessly fitting into the residency schedule.

    The Results

    In August 2024, Adele performed a 10-show residency at a ‘pop up’ venue in Messe München, Munich. She treated ticket holders to a special hospitality area, Adele World, to enjoy before and after the concert. Adele World provided a surrounding festival site, with a Ferris wheel, a swing carousel, a Bavarian beer garden, authentic English pub, and live entertainment. Adele World offered a range of food and drink options, including an ‘I Drink Wine’ bar and ‘Adele Spritz’ bar.

    The addition of live music was essential to completing this immersive experience, and Spice Girls Experience delivered in every way. From the moment Spice Girls Experience took to the stage, it was clear they were the perfect choice. Our tribute act consistently wowed fans with their dynamic performances, perfecting the nostalgic flair of the Spice Girls, and bringing infectious energy to Adele World.

    

    This residency became a defining opportunity for Spice Girls Experience. Their dazzling performances were not only a highlight of the residency but were also publicly praised by Adele on stage, further cementing their success: ‘Did you enjoy Adele World? I’ve been going round it all week nitpicking. Did anyone watch the Spice Girls? The Spice Girls Experience were my opener and they performed twice today; they have more stamina than me’. Our act contributed to an unforgettable experience for Adele’s fans, enhancing the overall hospitality and entertainment offering at Adele World.

    

    Feedback from fans, event organisers, promoters, and Adele herself has been overwhelmingly positive. Adele’s team commended the professionalism and energy of Spice Girls Experience, and fans were thrilled by their likeness to the original Spice Girls. We are incredibly proud to have been a part of this event, and to have been represented by such an exceptional tribute act.

    

11. Safari, So Good: Summer Garden Installation

    During the 2024 school summer holidays, we were excited to work with our client to create family-friendly summer entertainment! From May 20^th to September 2^nd, we delivered a long-term Summer Garden Installation, complete with themed Workshops, photo opportunities, and Props, transforming the outlet shopping complex into a vibrant summer destination for families.

    

    The Brief

    Our client sought to provide an engaging summer Installation that would appeal to families, drive repeat visits, and bring summer to life. With a strong, long-standing relationship, we had a deep understanding of our client’s objectives. We were confident in delivering entertainment that would not only meet but exceed their expectations.

    The Challenges

    Attention to detail was of the utmost importance for this project. We needed to deliver an Installation that perfectly aligned with our client’s vision, and to do so within a tight timeframe. With a large-scale project ahead, we needed to design, create, and set up the Installation swiftly and faultlessly.

    Given the outdoor and long-term nature of the Installation, another challenge was ensuring the durability of our Props. We needed to source materials capable of withstanding frequent use and exposure to changing weather conditions, all while maintaining a high-quality appearance.

    The Solutions

    Although our client had considered another entertainment specialist, they ultimately returned to us after seeing the impressive results of our past Installations. To reinforce their trust, we went above and beyond with our proposal, developing comprehensive mood boards and presenting successful case studies that aligned with their vision.

    By carefully understanding our client’s needs and leveraging our previous experience, we were able to quickly conceptualise and propose a solution that fulfilled our client’s needs and fit within the project’s tight timeline. Additionally, a generous budget gave us the opportunity to explore new materials and concepts. This allowed us to create a truly fantastic Installation, featuring high-quality props and designs that brought the space to life.

    In our proposal, we used resilient materials to ensure our props could endure outdoor conditions. Throughout the Installation period, we adjusted plans to accommodate evolving needs and performed regular maintenance visits. This ensured the garden and props remained in perfect condition for the duration of the project. Multiple site visits and continuous communication with the client ensured that we maintained high standards every step of the way.

    We assigned a dedicated team to manage every aspect of the Installation, from conceptualisation to execution. This ensured that each detail was handled with care, resulting in a flawless final product.

    The Results

    The project was a resounding success, delighting both the client and their visitors. All while reinforcing our reputation as a trusted entertainment partner.

    Our deep understanding of our client’s entertainment needs, combined with our five-year working relationship, enabled us to deliver a successful project. The Summer Garden Installation became a focal point of the shopping complex, significantly enhancing the summer entertainment offerings.

    Our Garden Installation included a grassy area, surrounded by a picket fence and planters with fresh flowers and plants. Additionally, we provided vibrant picnic benches, a Giant Brown Bear seat, Monkey seat, and Zebra seat. Families spent more time enjoying the garden, leading to increased dwell time and higher repeat footfall.

    Families could also participate in a Wildlife Discovery Safari-themed Trail with high-quality animal props to lead visitors around the shopping complex – and provided picture-perfect photo opportunities! Our client ran social media competitions, encouraging visitors to share photos of themselves and their families with the props. This resulted in increased social media visibility and encouraged repeat visits.

    

    Our themed Workshops, which were inspired by the Safari-themed trail props – Lion, Giraffe, Tiger, Rhino, Zebra, and Polar Bear – were a huge hit with visitors. The Workshops included a storytime session related to each animal, a fact sheet, and themed crafts!

    

12. Let it Snow: Transforming Longleat Safari Park into a Winter Wonderland with our Unforgettable Snow Effects

    During the 2023 festive period, spanning November 2023 to January 2024, we had the privilege of working with our client to create an extraordinary winter experience. Our aim was to transform their outdoor space into a magical Winter Wonderland for families to enjoy. With our dazzling Snow Effects, we brought Christmas to life at Longleat Safari Park.

    

    The Brief

    Our client sought to offer a unique, immersive, and enchanting winter experience at their Safari Park during the festive period. Their goal was to create a magical, snow-covered environment to captivate visitors and provide an authentic wintry atmosphere.

    

    The Challenges

    The snow installation involved covering a large outdoor area with Snow Effects, requiring a uniform and realistic snow scene. We had to carefully select the right type and measure of flocking snow to achieve a stunning and consistent effect. The Safari Park featured a range of terrains, each requiring tailored approaches for snow application to ensure uniformity and authenticity.

    Additionally, we needed to consider weather resilience of our snow scene. Given the duration of our installation, we needed to account for varying weather conditions. These could impact the appearance, application and removal, and longevity of the Snow Effects.

    Delivering high-quality Snow Effects within our client’s budget and timeframe was crucial. We aimed to minimise the need for frequent maintenance site visits and touch-ups.

    The Solutions

    To ensure a picture-perfect, realistic, and enduring winter scene, we designed a comprehensive plan incorporating various types of flocking snow and a foam snow blanket. This approach ensured that we provided an authentic appearance while maintaining durability throughout the festive period.

    Prior to installation, we conducted thorough site visits to evaluate the terrain and environmental conditions. These assessments enabled us to customise our Snow Effect strategy, addressing the specific needs of different areas throughout the Safari Park and ensuring the best possible results for our client. Based on our evaluations, we used plant-friendly flock and a specialised flock designed for more challenging terrains. Additionally, we closely monitored weather conditions to identify optimal times for application, enhancing coverage and longevity.

    By ensuring a thorough initial application, we reduced the need for frequent maintenance visits, aligning with our client’s budget and ensuring a seamless Winter Wonderland experience throughout the installation period.

    The Results

    Our transformation of Longleat Safari Park into a Winter Wonderland was a resounding success. The Snow Effects created a magical, immersive environment that delighted visitors and heightened the festive atmosphere! Our tailored approach and thorough planning ensured an authentic and lasting snow scene, making Christmas at Longleat a truly unforgettable experience for all who visited.
