The Brief
We have had the pleasure of working with Gold Medal Travel since 2017, providing entertainment, theming and event services across their events.
For their 2024 annual ‘Big Day Out’, we were thrilled to return to Carden Park in Chester, Cheshire, on 26th June to deliver another unforgettable experience – this time with a Thai Full Moon Party theme inspired by our client’s work with Tourism Thailand.
Gold Medal Travel’s ‘Big Day Out’ events are the perfect blend of professional and party.
For 2024, they requested a Thai Full Moon Party theme, décor options that incorporated fantastic photo opportunities, and live entertainment with club-style live music to complement the festival vibe.
We were excited to bring their vision to life!
The Challenge
Gold Medal Travel were required to receive proposals from at least three suppliers, so we were competing with other companies. As one of three suppliers pitching for the event, we needed to ensure our ideas stood out.
We also needed to consider budget variability. Our client had a budget in mind, but they were open to exploring more options with a larger budget, so we needed to demonstrate what could be achieved at different levels of investment.
There was also a tight setup window. The event space at Carden Park was in full use the day prior to our client’s event, so we needed to ensure everything could be installed and set up perfectly ahead of the evening event.
The Solution
To provide Gold Medal Travel with plenty of choice, we created three tailored proposals at different budget levels.
Our first proposal was budget-friendly: a Thai beach and jungle theme with creative props for fantastic photo opportunities.
The second proposal catered to a mid-range budget and included full venue draping, UV lighting and décor for a complete room transformation.
Our third proposal envisioned a glamorous beach festival theme.
Each proposal was accompanied by a detailed mood board to showcase our vision. This helped our client picture the event before it even began and understand what could be achieved within each budget.
After thorough and consistent communication with our client, we landed on the perfect balance of budget, style and a full-impact experience for their guests.

The Result
The final package was a huge hit with Gold Medal Travel, and the event was a night to remember!
From neon signs to UV-reactive props and vibrant décor, the event space at Carden Park was filled with Instagram-worthy moments.
We combined traditional Thai-inspired décor elements with modern festival touches. This included white draping, multicoloured lights and a neon pink elephant – a playful nod to Thailand’s wildlife. Minimal furniture encouraged guests to mingle, dance and enjoy the entire event space – not just the bar!
We also provided live music that perfectly matched Gold Medal Travel’s vision. Ultra 90s were the perfect choice, providing a high-energy festival vibe with live vocals, musicians and dazzling light shows. Mark Walsh was an interactive and engaging DJ and Host, bringing infectious energy to the room and keeping guests dancing and entertained all night long. From the glowing décor to the lively entertainment, the event perfectly captured the essence of a Thai Full Moon Party while celebrating Gold Medal Travel’s incredible work.

What This Project Demonstrates
Gold Medal Travel’s Thai Full Moon Party demonstrates Big Foot Events’ ability to develop, design and deliver complete themed corporate events in Cheshire and across the North West, combining creative concepts, venue transformation, props, lighting, photo opportunities and live entertainment.
For this event at Carden Park in Chester, our involvement began well before the event itself. We developed three creative proposals at different budget levels, produced mood boards to help the client visualise each option and worked closely with Gold Medal Travel to find the perfect balance between budget, style and impact.
Once the concept was agreed, we brought together the different elements needed to transform the venue into a vibrant Thai Full Moon Party – from draping, UV lighting, foliage and themed props to the live entertainment that kept guests dancing throughout the evening.
The event also demonstrates our ability to curate entertainment around a client’s theme and audience. Ultra 90s provided the high-energy, club-style live music Gold Medal Travel wanted, while Mark Walsh combined the roles of DJ and Host to keep the evening flowing and guests entertained.
Most importantly, this wasn’t our first event for Gold Medal Travel. Big Foot Events has been working with Gold Medal Travel on their events since 2017, creating entertainment and event experiences around different briefs, themes and requirements.
That long-standing relationship continued with their 2025 Big Day Out, when we returned to Carden Park in Cheshire to create an entirely different immersive experience inspired by event sponsor Yas Island.
