The Rev. Dr. Clive Jackson founded Dr and The Medics in 1982 and the band had a massive Number 1 hit in 1986 with “Spirit In The Sky”. This hit sold over 24 million copies worldwide and was No.1 in 23 countries!
Since then, the band have received recognition for being one of the greatest bands on the circuit. Performing monster hits from the 80s, performed in their own theatrical, flamboyant style!
Dr & The Medics are the only One Hit Wonder-band to have two hits, as their second single “Burn” got to number 21! They don’t shout about it as they are more than happy to wear their ‘One Hit Wonder’ badge with pride.
The band appeared on the ITV show ‘Hit Me, Baby, One More Time’, where they won the vote of ‘The Best Act’, against Jackie Graham, Belinda Carlisle and Shakin Stevens!
In 2008 The Doctor was recognised in his home town and was asked to perform in front of 8,000 people at the Liverpool Arena. They performed alongside; Atomic Kitten, The Lighting Seeds, The Christians, The Scaffold, The Farm, Gerry And The Pacemakers, and many more.
The current line-up have been together since 1999 and their show has been honed to perfection. The perfect combination of showmanship, musicianship and live entertainment, all performed as only the Reverend Doctor can!
