Go West is an award-winning pop duo with a global fanbase. They continue to bring their well-loved synth-pop showcase to audiences and make for perfect entertainment at your events.
The duo consists of Peter Cox and Richard Drummie, and their popularity soared in the 80s following the release of their debut single ‘We Close Our Eyes’ in 1985, reaching #4 in the charts. The success of ‘We Close Our Eyes’ was followed by three other top 10 hits – ‘Call Me’, ‘Goodbye Girl’, and ‘Don’t Look Down’.
Their debut self-titled album ‘Go West’ sold 1.5 million copies worldwide and established the pair as a chart force and as one of the greatest singer-songwriter duos to emerge in the 80s. In 1986 they won a BRIT Award for ‘Best British Newcomer.’
They wrote ‘King of Wishful Thinking’ for the opening of the successful 1990 film, Pretty Woman. The soundtrack album from this film has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. ‘King Of Wishful Thinking’ received an ASCAP Award in 1991 and 1992 for one of the most played songs on American radio.
Following Peter’s success on the TV series ‘Reborn In The USA’ he, Go West and Tony Hadley performed together on a 60 date UK tour in 2004.
In 2005, Go West celebrated their 20th anniversary and undertook another UK tour. They had already begun work on the songs for what would become their next album, ‘futurenow’, and used the tour to ‘road test’ the material on their faithful fans.
In early 2008 Go West headlined a tour of Australia and that autumn saw the release of ‘futurenow’, the band’s first studio album since 1992.
In April 2010 they toured the UK to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of their first, multi-million selling album.
Go West continue to headline at Festivals throughout the UK and the World; they are always performing to sell-out crowds and rave reviews.
