Frank Farian recorded the dance track ‘Baby Do You Wanna Bump’ in 1974. When the single was released, it was credited to Boney M. Farian found Maizie Williams, Bobby Farrell, Marcia Bennett, and Liz Mitchell to ‘front’ the group. Boney M. was finalised.
Their track ‘Daddy Cool’ reached the peak of the German charts and also reached the top 10 in the UK.
In 1978, the band released ‘Rivers of Babylon/Brown Girl In The Ring’. They have had many memorable, successful hits such as ‘Ma Baker’, ‘Sunny’, ‘Rasputin’, ‘Mary’s Boy Child – Oh My Lord’, and many more.
They made their comeback in 1992 with the ‘Boney M Megamix’ and made an appearance in the UK Top 10.
Recently, in 2015, a 3 CD box, ‘Diamonds’, was released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band.
