Led by Gillie Leroy Jones charismatic and gifted male lead vocalist who performed with the American Drifters, Ben E King and Billy Lewis.
Their show takes in the best of the Drifters, soul, Motown, funk and disco, erring always on the side of classy. We are 100% live vocals and harmonies; no samples, no cheating, just the excitement of real, live music. With a dedicated sound engineer and the option of professional DJ services to complement the live sets, The Driftars represent the complete entertainment package.
Supported by three vocalists and seven seasoned musicians who really know how to groove. Alternatively we will use backing tracks for smaller venues or to meet budgetary requirements. Singing the well-chosen classic Drifters hits, soul, Motown, funk and disco material, all delivered with authority, passion and verve.
Over the years, the group have played numerous high- level functions of all types across the UK and internationally. They have preformed television, awards ceremonies, military dinners, black tie balls, product launches, celebrity weddings, birthdays, Christmas parties, open-air festivals, nightclubs and holiday camps.
