Claire Sweeney was born to entertain. Since singing in clubs at age 14, she has gone on to enjoy great success as an Actress, TV Presenter, Host and Performer in a string of West End Musicals.
Her frequent appearances on TV (Coronation Street, Brookside, Benidorm, Scarborough, Challenge of a Lifetime, 60 Minute Make Over, Loose Women) define her in many people’s eyes as an actress and presenter, but she is first and foremost a singer. Her voice and stage presence are made for musicals. Claire has appeared in West End Shows and Musical Theatre, including Guys And Dolls, Chicago, Tell Me On A Sunday, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and 9 To 5.
Claire recently landed the part of Cassie, Tyrone Dobson’s Mum in ITV’s award-winning soap, Coronation Street. Autumn 2023 will see her starring on an 8 part drama ‘HMS Murder’ on Channel 5, so you can expect to be seeing a lot more of the talented and popular Claire Sweeney on your screens!
As a performer, Claire’s love of Musicals and Medleys sees her singing a fruity cocktail of some of her favourite songs from Chicago, Moulin Rouge, to Rihanna, Dolly Parton and Alicia Keys, with plenty of surprises along the way!
