Sue Cleaver is an English actress best known for her long-running role as Eileen Grimshaw on Coronation Street, a character she portrayed from 2000 to 2025. In 2024, she became a panellist on Loose Women.
Before joining Coronation Street, Sue starred in the acclaimed drama series Band of Gold and appeared alongside Julie Walters and Brenda Blethyn in the film Girls’ Night. She also held notable roles The Cops (1998), dinnerladies (1999–2000), and This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper (2000). Additionally, she featured in the Johnny Depp and Cate Blanchett film The Man Who Cried.
Beyond acting, Sue has made her mark in television as a regular panellist on Loose Women and previously stepped in as an agony aunt on This Morning. She also completed three years of training to become a psychotherapist.
She showcased her adventurous side as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2022 and, in 2024, released her first book, A Work In Progress, through Bloomsbury.
