Anthony Adams began his musical journey as a bass player and vocalist in a 70’s band ‘Metro, ‘touring with Dire Straits in Europe. But Anthony had a life-long interest in the music of Sinatra and on his return to England in the 80’s and 90’s he sang with various swing bands learning the craft.
Acknowledged as one of the best and most accurate tributes to Frank Sinatra in the UK and Europe today, Anthony Adams burst on to our TV screens in 2008 on BBC One’s prime-time television show ‘The One and Only’. The TV show, hosted by Graham Norton, set out to find Britain’s viewers favourite tribute act and reached weekly audiences of 7 million plus. Finishing runner-up out of thousands of applicants, Anthony sang and appeared in the mode of ‘The One& Only’ Frank Sinatra with Ol’ Blue Eyes’ classics, ’Come Fly With Me’, ‘The Lady Is A Tramp’ and ‘New York, New York’.
Since the heady day of live TV , Antony has continued working to bring his tribute of Ol’ Blue eyes to as many people as possible in theatres, hotels, 5 Star resorts around the Mediterranean and on P+O Cruise liners.
This year Antony is bringing another tribute into his repertoire . The Matt Monro Story is a one hour show featuring the best of the man they called ‘the cockney Sinatra’. This show includes facts about Matt’s life and great songs like ‘Born Free, A portrait of my Love, On Days like these. Walk Away, and many others.
