In June 2024, we were thrilled to work with our client to provide exceptional entertainment for their upcoming event. Earlier in the year, we had worked with Pleasure Beach Resort to provide eye-catching Walkabout Acts. Our client was delighted with the results, leading to another exciting opportunity: providing outstanding Live Music for their ‘The Final Lap’ event.
We were delighted to work with Pleasure Beach Resort once more. This time, they sought our expertise to make a big impact with Live Music for ‘The Final Lap’. This celebration marked the finale of 64 years of racing for the Grand Prix ride at the park. Visitors were invited for one last lap of the track before its final crossing of the finish line.
Their aim was to establish a high-energy experience with exciting entertainment and live music to celebrate this momentous occasion. It was time to wave the chequered flag for the last time, and a perfect send-off was crucial!
Our client wanted an exceptional Party Band to provide a live soundtrack. They aimed for the combined effect of the entertainment to bring a ‘Las Vegas meets Pleasure Beach Resort’ atmosphere to life! Additionally, they hoped to find a band with a personal connection to the park itself.
Our primary challenge was selecting the perfect Party band for our client. With many talented Party Bands on our roster, we needed to carefully choose a band to fulfil our client’s objectives. Fuelled by a drive to bring our client’s vision to life, we were excited to take on the challenge! Many of our bands were excited about the opportunity to perform at the event and had personal memories of the park. To steer the event towards success, we needed to choose the most suitable band to meet – and exceed – our client’s high expectations.
In addition to delivering an outstanding performance, the chosen Party Band needed to add to the momentum and excitement of the event! Given the anticipated large turnout, Pleasure Beach Resort had planned lots of thrilling entertainment for visitors to experience during the event. It was important to our client for the Live Music to complement the existing entertainment: supercars, grid girl performers, themed photo opportunities, and DJ sets.
Additionally, typical Blackpool weather – rain, wind, and clouds – was expected on the day. We needed to deliver an unforgettable experience that kept crowds queuing outdoors and enjoying the experience despite the weather!
Following our previous collaboration, we had a keen knowledge of our client’s intentions for their entertainment – live, loud, and impressive! We prioritised finding the best Party Band to provide a dynamic experience. We had many exciting conversations with our client to find the right choice and build a vision of the overall event.
After careful consideration, we recommended The Review. Placing pole position, this standout band, with a proven track record for high-energy performances, was ideal for the event. They also fulfilled our client’s wishes regarding a personal connection to the Grand Prix ride, having fond memories of riding the original petrol-powered cars before the transition to electric in 2002. We were confident that the band would adapt to and enhance the entertainment and high-energy experience at the event – regardless of the weather!
Our client’s ‘The Final Lap’ celebration was a perfect farewell to the Grand Prix ride. Guests enjoyed a thrilling experience, and our client received overwhelmingly positive feedback. The event saw an excellent turnout and successfully commemorated over six decades of operation for the Grand Prix ride. Crossing the finish line with triumph!

Despite the inclement weather, The Review delivered an outstanding performance. Their high-energy performance and vibrant presence created a lively atmosphere that shone beyond the clouds, entertaining guests queueing outdoors. Even with supercars on the line-up, this band proved to be the perfect support act for the Grand Prix ride.

This Party Band deliver a high-energy mix of rock and indie anthems, totally unique guitar versions of pop and dance classics, guilty pleasures, and some of the slickest genre mashing medleys you never thought you’d dance to! Backstreet Boys to Rage Against the Machine, Paramore to ABBA. No crowd has ever been able to resist their head-banging, tear-jerking, fist-pumping, lighter-waving, guilty-pleasure scream-a-longs.
Our high-octane entertainment helped the event rev up special memories for the park’s visitors and created new, lifelong ones. ‘The Final Lap’ featured in many vlogs capturing the energy of the event. They cheered on both the range of entertainment and the chance to have been part of the ride’s last lap.
