Performing songs from various artists which include 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and present day, has made for a great journey of experiences which over the years has seen Carolynne Poole performing at Casino’s, weddings, hotels, marquee's, restaurants, corporate events, garden parties, coffee shops, office events, nightclubs, wine bars, house parties, Xmas parties and churches!
With an eclectic taste in music and a powerful unique voice, Carolynne is able to cater for every event when looking for a singer and performer and will tailor the set list to suit.
Carolynne is a singer-songwriter from Leeds best known for her appearance on ITV's X Factor in 2013 as one of Gary Barlow's chosen 3 for the live shows.
Although a Yorkshire girl, Carolynne found a love for country music and became the first UK country singer to appear on the X Factor live shows in front of 12 million viewers.
Her early musical influences include: The Eagles, U2, The Carpenters and favourite, Mary Chaplan Carpenter
At the age of 14 Carolynne joined and fronted a 5 piece Country band, spending her evenings and weekends travelling up and down the UK, touring the Country club scene and experiencing the live circuit. Addicted to the thrill of performing live, she was hooked and a career in music was certain.
At 18 Carolynne left the family home in Bramley and headed for London to pursue a future as a singer-songwriter. In 2001 she signed her first publishing contract with BMG Music Publishing and took the first step in her professional writing career.
The next 12 months Carolynne spent developing her song writing talents in the UK and Europe. Also writing for other recording artists, most of her time was split between London and Stockholm Sweden, writing and recording with different songwriters and producers.
Although a dedicated writer Carolynne was always looking for opportunities to showcase her own singing abilities.
In 2002 Carolynne took her place alongside 30,000 applicants to compete for one of 13 places on BBC’s Fame Academy. After being selected as one the 13 contestants, Carolynne spent 13 weeks inside the Fame Academy house, singing live to viewers every week, including the duet ‘If You’re Not The One’ with artist Daniel Bedingfield. Live to over 7 million viewers, Carolynne was voted one of the 3 finalists.
After being taken under the wing of Amarillo Music, Carolynne began co-writing new material and appeared on stage with Tony Christie as support Artist on his National Tour. Carolynne also performed an original live set to an audience at The Royal Albert Hall in 2005.
An experienced stage actress, Carolynne has played several lead roles in the theatre and in Pantomime. Her most recent stage production was in Bill Kenwright’s 60’s Rock & Roll Show ‘Dreamboats & Petticoats’ playing the lead role of ‘Sue’ Other TV/film credits include ‘Frankie’ in Feature film ‘The Last Days Of Edgar Harding’ & ‘Talia Brice’ on Yorkshires favourite soap ‘Emmerdale’.
In 2011 Carolynne took part in ITV’s X Factor. Making it to the judges houses stage with mentor Louis Walsh. After losing out on a place on the live shows to other acts Goldie Chung, Jonny Robinson & Kitty Brucknall, Carolynne returned home to continue song writing and playing gigs in the UK.
2012 saw Carolynne return to the X Factor show, this time securing a place on the live shows with mentor Gary Barlow. Gary loved Carolynne’s country style and put her in his top 3 acts. Unfortunately, Carolynne found herself in the bottom two on week one and was sent home controversially after the vote went to deadlock and Rylan won the vote.
Carolynne is now playing venues in the UK before heading to the States in the summer to continue song writing in L.A & Nashville on her pending album. Watch this space!
